What Is Botox?

Botox Cosmetic® (a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria) has been used safely by opthalmologists for over 20 years.  Botox® has been used for wrinkle therapy since the early 1990's with no serious side effects documented.

Botox is the purified protein of Botulinum toxin.  The protein acts at the nerve-muscle connection called the neuromuscular junction.  At this site, the Botox stops the muscle contractions thereby relaxing the muscles in the area of the injection only
